Chet | ח

Chet represents the energy of sight.

It is the energy of divine transcendence, the world beyond the number seven. The eight symbolizes the messianic era and the covenant of circumcision. It is the love that tends to personal balance. It is the energy that coordinates the apparent contradiction between the world of unity and the world of fragmentation.

It is the energy that enables us to differentiate the important things in life from the unimportant matters. It is the energy that helps us to catch the interferences and focuses us to work on the essence of our life. It is the energy that is reserved for the important things.

The letter chet separates the outer from the inner as a barrier. For that reason it is said that it is the energy that we accumulate in our interior to apply and develop it in the important matters.

To achieve the true love of the Chesed, we need to balance in Tiferet what is important and what is accessory. The beauty of Tiferet is to find in life what is most important. If we work for the essence of things we will find true balance. If we spend our lives looking for accessory substitutes we become unbalanced, because as all matter is an illusion, then by working exclusively within matter we lose the energy we need to develop the essential issues.

Chesed-Tiferet
When the giving power of Chesed descends upon the "I", the "I" feels an expansion of love, feels that it has sufficient energy to ascend and descend. The power of the energy of giving empowers the "I". The "I" feels that it can bestow a great deal of light (despite the limitations of the left side). The right side is always bringing light into the world and the one who receives it is the Tiferet. The "I" of the Tiferet feels that it is expanded by the light that comes to it from the Chesed, it feels worthy of the light. It is a vessel that is ready for expansion, but it must learn to properly manage the energies it is receiving from the Chesed.

Tiferet-Chesed
In its constant growth, the "I" can become unbalanced by the expansive masculine forces. The soul's desire is for constant elevation to higher levels. The soul's nature inclines to the light that comes from the right, from the Chesed. However, to sustain the balance, the Chesed must be at the service of the "I". I must be merciful to myself in order to move forward within my imperfections. I am aware of my imperfection and I find in that imperfect "I" the beauty of the Tiferet. The beauty of life is the key to the energy of the Tiferet. My "I" must move towards the expansion of the Chesed in order to elevate myself. As my self-esteem increases, so does my capacity to give and my happiness in giving to others.
